EVS100 — Import File Open
In the 2020-10 release of M3, Infor released a new tool for batch importing of data for Multi-Tenant systems.
Infor has released a replacement for the Smart Data Tool to be used with Multi-Tenant clients. The tool is actually an M3 application EVS100 (Import File. Open).
The application will process a specifically formatted CSV file or Excel Workbook. This program will allow the execution of the MI jobs to run in the QBatch system directly. This bypasses the IONAPI system completely and runs the job natively in M3.
The file to be processed is uploaded via the File Transfer Client into the engine file system. Once the file has been uploaded, it’s visible in EVS100. EVS100 only gives one option, which is to import the file. This starts the job processing in QBATCH.
During my initial testing, this process crashes on data transform errors for some decimal data. I have opened a ticket with Infor support, and a fix is expected in the 2020-12 release.
